Giant Group today provided an update regarding its March 5 meeting with officials from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Forced Labor Division concerning the Withhold Release Order (WRO) affecting Giant Taiwan Manufacturing’s operations.

Giant Group CEO Phoebe Liu and Chief Legal Officer Daniel Chen met with CBP analysts responsible for reviewing the case in a working-level meeting. At the outset of the meeting, Ms. Liu paid tribute to Giant’s founder, King Liu, reaffirming the company’s continued commitment to the core values he established, including integrity, trustworthiness, proactiveness, efficiency, and resilience.

During the meeting, CBP indicated that the Giant case remains one of its priority matters and that the agency is working to accelerate the review process. CBP also noted that additional personnel have been assigned to the case in order to advance the review more efficiently.

Giant has submitted relevant documentation at CBP’s request, and these materials are currently under review. The meeting also addressed follow-up questions raised by CBP, to which Giant provided detailed responses. Overall, the discussion was constructive and productive.

Giant Group stated that a timely completion of the review and the revocation of the WRO are important not only for the company’s integrity,
business, workers and customers in the United States, but also for maintaining public confidence in the WRO process. Giant will continue maintaining communication with CBP through both virtual and in-person meetings in order to respond to any follow-up questions and support the review process moving forward.
