Giant Group today(August 15) released its 2024 ESG Report, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey. From achieving carbon reduction targets ahead of schedule to promoting a more diverse and inclusive workplace, the Group continues to integrate business growth with environmental and social responsibility.

The strong results achieved in 2024 highlight the effectiveness of Giant Group’s “Cycling for a Better Future” sustainability strategy, which embeds climate action, material innovation, and diversity across its global operations. The Group’s ESG actions follow internationally recognized standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and support the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Innovating a Clean Future

In 2024, Giant Group reduced greenhouse gas emissions across major operational sites by 28.48%, surpassing its 2030 target six years ahead of schedule. Solar systems were installed at seven manufacturing sites worldwide, generating 25.6 million kWh of renewable electricity and increasing the share of green energy use to 15.6%.

The Group also expanded its GHG inventory to cover 95% of global revenue operations, aligning ahead of schedule with both EU CSRD and Taiwan FSC standards. In the manufacturing sector, an internal engineering innovation team voluntarily implemented a series of energy-saving and carbon reduction initiatives—including process optimization, equipment upgrades, lighting management, energy transition, and behavioral management. These efforts led to a total reduction of 4,129.9 tCOe in 2024, highlighting a strong commitment to green energy and the capability to integrate sustainability into operational practices.

Transforming for Circularity

Giant Group is advancing its circular economy strategy by integrating product design, material innovation, and life cycle thinking. Using ISO standards and a proprietary product carbon footprint database, the Group conducted Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) on key bicycle models, identifying raw materials and manufacturing phases as major carbon hotspots.

Therefore, through its “A Trail to Zero” initiative, Giant Group is committed to reducing 40 kg COe per bicycle by 2030. In 2024, the Group introduced 546 eco-friendly tires, replaced 600,000 saddles with low-carbon alternatives, and produced 155,000 bicycles using recycled aluminum—achieving a total reduction of 2,806 tCOe.

To enhance transparency, the Group launched the Enviro Mark, helping consumers identify products made with eco-friendly materials. Applied to 52 products so far, the mark reflects the Group’s pioneering ability to calculate carbon reduction from raw material improvements—making its sustainability impact both visible and verifiable.

Mobilizing for DEI

Giant Group continues to strengthen its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy through diversified recruitment, talent development, and community engagement. In 2024, women represented 36.97% of STEM roles—above the global average 28%—while women in management roles accounted for 30.94%. Since 2022, the Group’s internal job rotation rate has steadily increased, reaching 63% in 2024, demonstrating its commitment to employee growth and organizational agility.

Beyond the workplace, Giant Group launched global and local initiatives aligned with its core business, focusing on climate philanthropy and promoting inclusive cycling. These initiatives aim to create deeper and more impactful contributions to society.

Management and Governance

Board diversity and ESG leadership are central to Giant Group’s governance strategy. In 2024, four women directors were appointed, increasing female representation on the Board to 36% and enhancing diversity in gender, nationality, and professional background—broadening perspectives in strategic decision-making.

The Group actively participated in 24 global industry associations to advance the sustainable development of the bicycle industry. Its inclusion in the 2024 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Emerging Markets Index—becoming the world’s first bicycle company to receive this prestigious recognition—underscores its role as a global ESG excellence and its commitment to forward-looking governance.

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond product innovation—it’s about building a resilient future through responsible governance and global collaboration,” said Young Liu, Chairman of Giant Group. We integrate technological innovation and sustainability across the cycling ecosystem, continually enhancing the industry’s value. We believe every ride carries the values of health, happiness, and environmental responsibility, and we look forward to realizing a shared vision of a better life through cycling,” added CEO Phoebe Liu.
