The 33rd Taiwan Excellence Awards, including the Gold and Silver Awards, held an award ceremony today (11/27). Giant Group's high-end bicycle brand Giant won the Taiwan Excellence Award and Gold Award for its TCR Advanced SL 0 road bike, again showcasing outstanding capabilities!

The Taiwan Excellence Awards represent the highest honor for Taiwan's industries. The 33rd Taiwan Excellence Awards kicked off in April 2024, with nearly 900 innovative products entering the competition. 286 products won the Taiwan Excellence Award, and 30 products competed for the Gold and Silver Awards. After rigorous evaluation by domestic and international experts in five major aspects - R&D, design, quality, marketing, and Taiwan manufacturing, Giant Group's TCR Advanced SL 0 road bike under the Giant brand stood out and won the highest honor of the Gold Award.

Since its inception in 1997, the TCR series has epitomized cutting-edge technology at Giant Group. The latest 10th-generation TCR Advanced SL 0 that won the Gold Award, launched in 2024, integrates all core technologies into one cohesive system. Designed to be the ultimate all-rounder for the world’s fastest cyclists, this model reflects the DNA of the Giant brand—pushing boundaries and breaking limits.

1.     Exclusive Manufacturing Process

The frame of the 10th generation flagship TCR Advanced SL 0 is an ultimate masterpiece combining Giant Group's proprietary carbon fiber weaving technology, ultra-precise cold knife cutting technology, and other advanced processes, weighing only 690g. Compared to the previous TCR, it offers higher pedaling efficiency, lighter weight, and an enhanced stiffness-to-weight ratio, making it the lightest TCR in Giant's history. With a complete bike weight of just 6.4kg, riders can convert every pedal stroke into forward speed with ultra-high efficiency. "Extreme Lightness" and "High Efficiency" have become the hallmarks of Giant's 10th generation TCR.

 

2.     Aerodynamic Evolution Across the Entire Bike

The 10th generation TCR series bikes incorporate comprehensive aerodynamic design. Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing, a new elliptical tube shape was created, and the internal cable routing design for the stem/handlebar simultaneously enhanced aerodynamics and handling, resulting in a sleeker overall silhouette. Compared to the previous TCR, the overall bike's aerodynamic drag is reduced by 4.19 watts, delivering ultimate riding performance from the inside out.

 

3.     Innovative Technology Breakthroughs

The 10th generation flagship TCR Advanced SL 0 features the OverDrive Aero steerer tube and is equipped with the Contact SLR/SL AeroLight stem and Contact SLR/SL handlebars, concealing the brake lines for a sleek, aerodynamic profile. The hidden cable routing design is simple and easy to adjust, making it one of the most adjustable internal routing systems on the market.

 

4.     Ultimate Drivetrain Wheelsystem

The 10th generation flagship TCR Advanced SL 0 is paired with the CADEX MAX 40 wheelsystem, delivering maximum power transfer efficiency, top-tier aerodynamics, and, most importantly, extreme lightness. The all-new CADEX MAX 40 is the lightest wheelsystem in CADEX brand history, featuring high-precision carbon fiber construction for a one-piece carbon fiber spoke and aerodynamic hub shell, paired with an ultra-aero 40mm carbon fiber rim profile, achieving the best overall race wheelsystem in its class.
