The 32nd Taiwan Excellence Awards kicked off in April 2023. A total of 948 innovative products were submitted, with 320 selected for the Excellence Award and 30 products competing for the Gold and Silver Quality Awards. The Giant Group won the Silver Quality Award this time.
The CADEX TRI, which won the Silver Quality Award, is a new triathlon bike frame launched in 2022 by CADEX, a high-end bicycle component brand under the Giant Group. It was co-developed, designed, and validated by the Giant Group and the world's top triathletes. Unlike traditional road bike designs and not constrained by time-trial bike frameworks, CADEX TRI breaks conventional norms, continuously pushing the boundaries and challenging limits, elevating the triathlon to a new level.

The primary goal in developing the CADEX TRI triathlon bike frame was to allow triathletes worldwide to achieve their best riding geometry through professional fitting. The development team of CADEX TRI collected riding geometry data from 150 top triathletes worldwide and developed five frame sizes. They also included ingenious designs to allow athletes to make "extensive and intensive" adjustments easily with simple tools, catering to different body proportions. Easy and quick adjustments of riding geometry are key for athletes to find their optimal setting.
Comprehensive Aerodynamics
The CADEX TRI frame is created using aerodynamic molding technology. Through CFD simulations of fluid dynamics and wind tunnel testing, every part of the frame is optimized for the best aerodynamic shape. Its unique fork design significantly reduces airflow disturbance, allowing smooth passage and minimizing wind resistance for both the bike and the rider. The fork features a double-crown design, extending up to the cockpit, providing better rigidity on the handlebars and extensions for more stable control.
Perfect Integration of Race Equipment
Considering practicality and weight distribution, the CADEX TRI frame features an all-encompassing supply system integrated into the frame design. This integration prevents added parts from increasing drag or affecting speed during the ride. The supply system is easily accessible at the front, middle, and rear, and is convenient for maintenance.
Eco-friendly Design
The CADEX TRI frame is made of ultra-lightweight carbon fiber, effectively reducing product weight and minimizing waste during transportation (Reduce). Parts like the aerodynamic fairing for the bike head, stem aerodynamic decorative covers and battery mounts are made with eco-friendly injection-molded composite materials, achieving multiple objectives of functionality, aesthetics, and environmental friendliness (Recycle). The standard supply system meets the needs of athletes without requiring additional accessories and is easy to clean and maintain, significantly extending the product's lifecycle and facilitating reuse (Reuse).
